Description

This volume completes the etudy of gymnonotic oribatid mites of the Iberian Peninsula. Specifically, the Oppioidea are studied, which were excluded from the first volume (vol. 9 of FAUNA IBÉRICA Series) due to the large number of taxa and their complexity. This volume deals with 149 species belong to 9 families. It contains identification keys and descriptions of all the mentioned taxa, illutrations of each species and information about their known biology and geographical distribution. This second volume also provides a complete bibliography and an updated revision of the systematic nomenclatures of these mites.
