Description This monograph of the "Fauna Ibérica" series is devoted to aphids (Hemiptera, Aphididae I) and is the first part of the study about these insects on the Iberian Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands. It deals with 112 aphid species belonging to 11 subfamilies (Mindarinae, Phloeomyzinae, Hormaphidinae, Anoeciinae, Thelaxinae, Phyllaphidinae, Calaphidinae, Saltusaphidinae, Israelaphidinae, Drepanosiphidinae y Chaitophorinae) of the 15 subfamilies represented in the Ibero-balearic aphid fauna. The book is ilustrated with 202 plates, and contains several introductory chapters on aphids, identification dichotomic keys based on viviparous females as well as detailed descriptions of both morphological and bilogical characters. It also includes the distribution of each species, and updated bibliography, appendices on aphid nomenclature and an appendix containing a list of host plants on the Iberian Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands.
